A good initial distraction or pain strike can be a heel kick to the shin bone prior to the grab of the wrist.

   Jiyu Waza-This usually involves more than one attacker who may attack nage in any way desired. Evasion and constant movement is critical in this Aikido exercise.

   Kubotan Techniques The Kubotan is renowned for its versatility as a self defense tool that is legal to own and carry. This instrument can be used for securing locks, throws and also serve as a flailing or impact weapon.  Dimensions of the Kubotan used are 5 1/2 inches long and aproximately 1/2 inch diameter with a round tapered tip (preferred by Torres Sensei for it's versatility in attacking pressure points with greater precision)
